Coloplast as an NDIS provider
Coloplast is now a registered NDIS provider and will be able to support you directly in ordering your Coloplast continence and ostomy products via our Coloplast Care Direct service using your NDIS funds.
Funding types
There are three ways you can arrange to have your NDIS funds managed.
Self-managed
This is where you manage your own NDIS funding. You can apply to the NDIA to provide you with funding so that you can access the support you need to achieve your goals.
If you are self-managed, you may wish to pay out of pocket using your credit card or you may wish to request a quote from Coloplast to submit to the NDIA to be reimbursed in advance of payment. If this is the case, once you have received your NDIS funding, please log back into your Coloplast account and complete your order.
Plan-managed
This is where an organisation, also known as a Plan Manager, supports you to manage your NDIS plan. The NDIA will provide funding in your plan to pay your Plan Manager, who will pay your chosen provider on your behalf. Your Plan Manager will assist you in keeping track of your funds and is responsible for the financial reporting of your spending.
If you are plan-managed and we do not have an existing service booking, we will contact your plan manager to process your order. If this order fits within an existing service booking you have with us, then there is no further action required and we will process your order as normal unless we have any questions.
NDIA-managed
This is also called Agency-managed. The NDIA pays your chosen provider on your behalf and will manage your funding while being responsible for the financial reporting of your spending.
If you are NDIA-managed, you can provide us with your NDIS reference number when you checkout, which we will input into the NDIS provider portal to search for the budget allocation available for you to order continence and ostomy consumables. If a budget allocation has been made, we will submit a payment request to the NDIS for the order amount. We will contact you if we encounter difficulties with your NDIA-managed funds (for example, if we find that there is no budget allocation). If your order fits within an existing service booking you have with us, then there is no further action required and we will process your order as normal unless we have any questions.
The NDIS Team at Coloplast can help
Our Coloplast Care Direct NDIS Team have helped over 1,200 participants navigate the NDIS and can help you through a wide range of challenges, from preparing for review meetings and helping you to gain access to the continence and ostomy products you need.
Our NDIS Team provides:
- Bespoke estimates to help you communicate the funds you need to your Plan Manager/LAC (Local Area Co-ordinator)
- Justification letters from clinical nurses in support of your product choices
- Rapid access to our Coloplast Care Nursing support to aid with issues/concerns or reviews in your bladder and bowel management
- Coordination with your Plan Manager if you have one
NDIS Safety Net
NDIS Safety Net is a personalised NDIS service. Through making individualised plans and working with your approved budgets we can ensure that you have enough to last you the year -and if you fall short for any reason, we will be there to help keep you going until you can access more funds.
NDIS Safety Net is exclusive to Coloplast Care Direct customers and includes:
- Complimentary plan to help build and understand your usage through the year
- Regular check ins to ensure that your spending is staying on track
- Access to the ‘Coloplast NDIS Safety net’ with one month of guaranteed supply if you fall short of funds
